\n Dag i B\u00f8n 2019 (Danish)<\/a> 1.1Mb<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\nOn the cover of this year’s Day of Prayer magazine is Naw Moo Day Wah, whom we first met after she was shot by the Burma Army in\u00a02001. She was eight years old then and when we met her again in January 2018\u00a0she was married and had a new baby. \u201cWill the Burma Army attack again, will\u00a0 I have to run again?\u201d she asked. Two months later the Burma Army did attack\u00a0and she did run again.<\/p>\nA few months later, we met Naw Paw\u00a0Tha, whose husband, an NGO worker,\u00a0was gunned down by the Burma Army\u00a0in March 2018. She is in hiding now\u00a0with her seven children and no justice\u00a0has been done. Instead, the Burma\u00a0Army continues to build up its forces\u00a0near where she and over 2,500 displaced\u00a0Karen live in northern Karen State. We\u00a0prayed with her in the jungle after her\u00a0husband was killed and are helping her\u00a0and her children. When we gave her\u00a0a medal in honor of her husband she\u00a0started to cry. This broke my heart and I
\nasked God to help us.<\/p>\nOver 25 years of working in Burma\u00a0and still murders, shootings, and\u00a0displacements like this go on. The\u00a0Burma Army attacks its own people with\u00a0impunity and there is no change in this.\u00a0This is tragic and would seem hopeless\u00a0except we know God cares and that\u00a0the prayers of people change things.\u00a0So as you read this year\u2019s magazine,\u00a0please pray and ask God how to pray.\u00a0Please pray for love over hate, justice\u00a0over revenge, freedom over slavery,\u00a0reconciliation over unforgiveness. Jesus\u00a0gives us the power to do this when\u00a0we ask Him. In the midst of evil and\u00a0suffering we do see God\u2019s love shine\u00a0through people as they choose to help
\neach other in the face of great odds.\u00a0God only has us do what He helps us to\u00a0do. We do not have to and cannot help\u00a0everyone, but we each can help those\u00a0that God puts in front of us to help. It\u00a0is the power of Jesus that enables us\u00a0to help others and brings new life and\u00a0hope for all of us.<\/p>\nThank you for caring, praying, and\u00a0helping.<\/p>\n
