Saw Mu Plaw was the site of a Karen village until the Burma army attacked it multiple times and chased all the villagers out. There are now two Burma Army camps in the area and they are working to expand their control of the area and are using bulldozers to push a road through. One Karen soldier accompanying the team was wounded in the\u00a0ankle\u00a0and Saw Shae Say was shot in the arm, shattering his bone. The team managed to escape the Burma\u00a0Army and carried the wounded for two days to a\u00a0Free Burma Ranger-supported clinic.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"thumbnail wp-caption alignnone\" style=\"width: 717px\"><a href=\"http:\/\/wp.freeburmarangers.org\/2014\/03\/12\/fbr-video-man-shot-by-burma-army\/exit-wound-2\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-59710\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"The exit wound from the bullet that hit Saw Shae Say while he was monitoring Burma Army activities in Karen State in February 2014. \" src=\"http:\/\/wp.freeburmarangers.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/03\/Exit-wound-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"717\" height=\"478\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"caption wp-caption-text\"><em>The exit wound from the bullet that hit Saw Shae Say while he was monitoring Burma Army activities in Karen State in February 2014.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Karen solider\u00a0shot in the ankle\u00a0was stabilized there,\u00a0while Saw Shae Say, whose wound was much more serious,\u00a0was evacuated further. \u00a0Due to good medical care, he will not lose his arm and is recovering. We asked him what he wanted to do when he got better. He smiled broadly and said, &#8221; I want to keep being a\u00a0Ranger.
